Temporary dedicated traffic lanes for football fans will appear in Moscow by the beginning of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Moscow authorities said.

“New lanes for football fans will be prepared for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The lanes are expected to be temporary. It means that they will have a priority only during the World Cup,” the authorities said on the Moscow government’s official website.

Roads leading to the Luzhniki and Spartak stadiums will have dedicated lanes to make the way to matches easy and comfortable.

Moscow has an acute traffic problem. According to the 2016 TomTom Traffic Index, Moscow is the fifth in the list of cities with the worst traffic in the world.

Luzhniki stadium will host the final of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
