Russia’s Samara will spend $165 million on preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the city authorities said.

Samara’s city planning department presented the project on reconstruction of the city for the football tournament. The plan includes restoration of architecture and greening program for tourism areas.

According to project developers, 292 architectural sites need restoration. Developers also suggested renewing lightning and transport systems.

Samara is the sixth largest city in Russia, situated on the river Volga. Samara will host one of the quarterfinals and five more matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
