“I don’t think it will be possible to buy shawarma during the 2018 FIFA World Cup,“ Aleksandr Bandurin said.
The official was unable to say how exactly Moscow will organize street food during the tournament..
In February, Moscow authorities destroyed dozens of cheap street food points, claiming they were constructed illegally. It caused an outrage from many Muscovites on social media.
The Russian capital is under a large-scale infrastructure and transport reform in the run-up to FIFA 2018. Moscow will host 12 matches, including the final.
