The first center of fan registration for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2018 World Cup started working in St. Petersburg, Russia’s TASS news agency reported.

The deputy prime minister of Russia attended the opening ceremony and cut the ribbon.

“Passports [Fan IDs] are already available for the order and will be ready for issuance in February,” Vitaly Mutko said.

Similar centers will be opened in Moscow Kazan and Sochi. The four cities will hold for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.

The Confederations Cup will take place in June 2017, and the World Cup in the summer 2018. Every fan must get a fan ID to attend the tournaments. IDs will also allow foreigners to enter Russia without a visa.
