Record number of volunteers submitted bids for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2018 World Cup, Russia’s TASS news agency reported.
The number of applicants exceeds 157,000 at the time of writing of this article. It’s a new record in the history of the global football tournaments.
The record was announced during the celebration of the International Volunteer Day on Monday in Moscow. FIFA will collect all applications until December 30.
A total of 5,000 volunteers will qualify to work at the 2017 Confederations Cup, while 15,000 will be selected for the 2018 FIFA World Cup events.
