How to get a film permission to shoot in Uzbekistan for film and TV crews.

In Uzbekistan, you need a permit for everything. This is especially true for film and TV production. A government commission will decide whether to greenlight your shoot.

Local production companies have less formalities to fulfill. In any case, here’s what you need to get a permit to shoot in Uzbekistan:

Application to consider your request. Apply it two months before your shoot starts.

Script of your project. Must be in Russian or Uzbek language. We’ll translate it and file 6 copies to the commission.

Production schedule. Make sure it has the actual days. The government might send an inspector right on a shooting day.

Contract with a local production company. Soar Productions is incorporated locally in Uzbekistan.

Confirmation of payment. Attach a document that confirms you paid a $25 consideration fee.All the documents must be filed by your local production partner.

The Uzbekistan law allows the commission spend up to one month to consider your request and make a decision. In case of a disapproval, you can make amendments and file it again. You’ll receive the final verdict within 10 days.

Once your application is approved, a fee of $200 will be charged.
